Adult IOP Substance Abuse/Addiction Treatment Program
The Intensive Outpatient Program design at ICCT is research and evidence based to provide competent, effective, efficient, sensitive and culturally responsive treatment services. ICCT offers treatment to men and women 18 years old and over and have a primary diagnosis of an alcohol and/or substance use or abuse related disorder and utilizes a cognitive approach to support long-term change. Since many clients report substance abuse and/or mental health problems significant enough to interfere in all areas of their functioning, services will be tailored to meet the specific needs of the client and are designed to address dual diagnosis issues such as substance abuse, personality disorders and mental illness concurrently.
The primary purpose of the program is to help adults develop the basic skills needed to maintain a healthy lifestyle that is drug and alcohol free. Chemical abuse/dependence is treated from a holistic perspective including psychological, physical, spiritual and social issues. We offer a variety of treatment options to individualize therapy, increase a skill repertoire to prevent relapse, address continuity of care, promote 12 Step program involvement and enhance the clientÕs therapeutic gains through aftercare and on-going recovery interventions. Structured materials from a variety of evidenced based models will assist clients in developing long-term relapse prevention strategies such as: time management; leisure time management; self regulation; mood management; self knowledge; coping skills; assertiveness; realistic goal setting; stress management; communication and maintenance and aftercare. The program also addresses the challenges facing anyone in recovery, i.e. self-esteem, interpersonal relationships and handling the demands and stresses of each day. An important element of the program design is to provide treatment at an appropriate level of care in the least restrictive environment.
